🆕New Passport Application8
How do I apply for a new passport in Noida or Greater Noida?▼
You apply online on the official Passport Seva Portal (passportindia.gov.in). Fill Form Type "New", upload documents, pay fees, and book a PSK appointment. At Agarwal Passport Consultant, we handle the entire process for you — from form filling to PSK appointment — so you just show up at PSK once.
How long does a new passport take in Noida?▼
Under the normal category, a new passport takes 30–45 working days after the PSK appointment, including police verification. Under the Tatkal scheme, the passport is dispatched within 1–3 working days after appointment. We track your application at every stage.
What is the government fee for a new passport?▼
For a 36-page booklet, the fee is ₹1,500 (normal) or ₹3,500 (Tatkal). For a 60-page booklet, it is ₹2,000 (normal) or ₹4,000 (Tatkal). A Speed Post fee of ₹35 is additional. These are government charges; our consultancy fee is separate and disclosed upfront.
What documents are needed for a new passport in India?▼
The standard documents are: Aadhaar card (identity + address proof), PAN card (identity proof), birth certificate or Class 10 marksheet (date of birth proof), and 2 recent passport-size photographs with white background. Additional documents may be needed based on individual circumstances.
Can I apply for a 60-page passport instead of 36-page?▼
Yes. You can choose between 36-page and 60-page booklets. The 60-page booklet costs ₹500 more but is recommended for frequent international travellers. It provides more space for visa stamps and avoids the need for early renewal due to full pages.
Which PSK should I visit from Greater Noida West?▼
The most convenient PSK for Greater Noida West, Noida Extension, and Greater Noida residents is PSK Noida (Sector 62) or PSK Ghaziabad. We book your appointment at whichever location has the earliest available slot.
Do I need a PAN card for passport application?▼
PAN card is not mandatory but is commonly used as additional identity proof. Aadhaar card is the primary and most accepted document. We advise the most suitable document combination for your specific case.
Is Aadhaar card mandatory for passport?▼
Aadhaar card is the strongest and most commonly accepted identity + address proof for passport applications. While technically not mandatory, PSKs strongly prefer Aadhaar. If your Aadhaar address does not match your current address, carry additional address proof.
⚡Tatkal Passport Service6
What is Tatkal passport and how fast is it?▼
Tatkal is an expedited passport scheme where your application is processed on priority. After the PSK appointment, the passport is dispatched within 1–3 working days. The additional Tatkal fee is ₹2,000 over the normal fee. We handle complete Tatkal documentation including Annexure F.
What is Annexure F and is it mandatory for Tatkal?▼
Annexure F is a verification certificate that must be signed by an authorised verifier (Gazetted Officer, MLA, MP, Municipal Councillor, Bank Manager, School Principal, etc.). It is mandatory for all Tatkal applications. Without Annexure F, your Tatkal application will be rejected at PSK. We arrange Annexure F from authorised verifiers in Noida NCR.
Can I get a Tatkal passport if I have upcoming travel in 3 days?▼
If you need a passport in 3 days, we can process a Tatkal application immediately — form filling, Annexure F, and PSK appointment on the same day. However, Tatkal dispatch takes 1–3 working days after PSK approval, so the total timeline depends on when your PSK appointment is. Call us immediately on 9310725082 for emergency cases.
Is Tatkal available for all types of passport applications?▼
Yes. Tatkal is available for new passport, renewal/re-issue, name correction, address change, lost passport (expired only), ECR to Non-ECR, and all other passport categories. The only exception is lost passport when the existing passport is still valid — in that case, only Normal category is allowed.
Can Tatkal be rejected at PSK?▼
Yes. If documents are incomplete, Annexure F is incorrect, or any discrepancy is found, PSK can reject the Tatkal category and process it as Normal — in which case the ₹2,000 Tatkal fee is lost. Our pre-PSK document audit eliminates this risk by verifying everything before your visit.
How much does Tatkal passport cost in total?▼
Government fees: ₹3,500 (36-page) or ₹4,000 (60-page), plus ₹35 Speed Post. Tatkal adds ₹2,000 over the normal fee. Our consultancy fee is disclosed upfront during the free consultation call. No hidden charges.
🔄Passport Renewal & Re-issue6
How early should I renew my passport before it expires?▼
We recommend renewing at least 6–9 months before expiry. Many countries require your passport to be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel date. Airlines and immigration officers may refuse boarding if your passport expires within 6 months.
Do I need police verification for passport renewal?▼
Police verification is not always required for simple renewal with the same name, address, and details. If you are changing any detail (address, name), police verification is required. We advise based on your specific renewal situation.
Can I use my passport while renewal is in process?▼
You must submit your old passport at PSK during the renewal appointment. If you have urgent international travel during this period, inform the PSK officer — they can issue a temporary clearance. Always consult us before submitting if travel is planned.
How long does passport renewal take?▼
Normal renewal: 15–30 days if no police verification needed, or 30–45 days with police verification. Tatkal renewal: 1–3 working days after PSK appointment. We track every application and follow up on police verification proactively.
My passport has only 4 blank pages left — should I renew?▼
Yes. Many countries require at least 2 blank pages for entry visas. With 4 pages left, you are close to running out. We recommend renewing now to avoid travel disruptions. You can also choose the 60-page booklet for more space.
Can I combine renewal with other changes like address or name?▼
Yes. You can combine renewal with address change, name change, or other corrections in a single re-issue application. This saves time, PSK visits, and fees. We handle combined applications very commonly.
🛡️Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)6
What is PCC and who needs it?▼
PCC (Police Clearance Certificate) is issued by PSK and confirms the applicant has no criminal record in India. It is required for employment abroad, immigration to Canada/Australia/UK/USA, permanent residency (PR) applications, long-stay visas (180+ days), and higher education abroad.
How long does PCC take after PSK appointment?▼
PCC processing takes 7–15 working days after PSK appointment, depending on police verification speed. We proactively follow up with local police to ensure timely clearance. PCC is delivered via Speed Post to your registered address.
How long is PCC valid?▼
A PCC is typically valid for 6 months from the date of issue. Some countries accept PCC up to 12 months old. Always check the specific immigration requirement of the country you are applying to before applying for PCC.
Can I apply for PCC if I am not travelling immediately?▼
Yes. You can apply for PCC at any time. However, since PCC validity is 6 months, we recommend applying about 4–5 months before your intended submission date to ensure it does not expire before use.
Is police verification required for PCC?▼
Yes, fresh police verification at your current residential address is always required for PCC. The police confirm there are no criminal cases registered against you. We follow up with local police proactively to avoid delays.
How many PCC appointments can I book per year?▼
Only ONE PCC appointment is permitted per year per applicant on the Passport Seva Portal. This makes proper preparation and first-time approval critical. We ensure your documentation is complete before the appointment.
✏️Name, DOB & Address Corrections5
What documents are needed for name change in passport after marriage?▼
Marriage certificate, gazette notification (in most cases), newspaper advertisement, notarised affidavit, updated Aadhaar with new name, PAN with new name, old passport, and photographs. For name change after marriage, marriage certificate alone may suffice in some PSKs — we advise the best route.
How do I correct date of birth in my passport?▼
You need consistent DOB proof across all documents — birth certificate, Class 10 marksheet, and Aadhaar all must show the same correct DOB. We arrange a notarised affidavit, verify document consistency, and handle the complete passport re-issue application.
Do I need to update Aadhaar before making corrections in passport?▼
For any correction — name, DOB, or address — your Aadhaar must reflect the corrected information before applying. Discrepancy between Aadhaar and the correction being requested will likely result in PSK rejection. We advise on updating Aadhaar first.
Can I make multiple corrections in one passport application?▼
Yes. You can combine multiple corrections — for example, name change + address change + photo update — in a single re-issue application. We recommend combining all required changes in one application to save time, fees, and PSK visits.
How long does name correction take?▼
Name correction follows standard re-issue timelines: 30–45 working days normal, or 1–3 working days Tatkal. Tatkal is recommended if you have upcoming travel or visa applications affected by the name error.
🌍ECR & Non-ECR (ECNR)5
What is ECR in Indian passport?▼
ECR (Emigration Check Required) is a stamp in Indian passports indicating the holder must obtain emigration clearance before travelling to any of the 18 specific countries for employment. These include UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Malaysia, and 10 other countries.
How do I check if my passport has ECR or ECNR?▼
Open your passport to the last printed page (before back cover) or observation page. 'ECR' means Emigration Check Required. 'ECNR' or 'Emigration Check Not Required' means you have ECNR status. New passports issued to eligible individuals automatically carry ECNR.
Who is eligible for ECNR upgrade?▼
Individuals who have passed Class 10 or higher, income tax return (ITR) filers assessed for tax, Central/State Government or PSU employees, degree holders (engineers, doctors, nurses), merchant navy professionals, and spouses of ECNR holders.
Can I travel to Gulf countries with ECR passport?▼
Yes, but for employment purposes, you must first obtain emigration clearance from the Protector of Emigrants (POE) office. This adds time and paperwork. ECNR passport removes this requirement entirely — you can travel freely without POE clearance.
How long does ECNR upgrade take?▼
ECNR upgrade involves a passport re-issue: 30–45 days normal, 1–3 days Tatkal after PSK appointment. We recommend Tatkal if you have urgent employment or travel needs.
📄Documents & Process6
What is the Passport Seva Portal?▼
The Passport Seva Portal (passportindia.gov.in) is the official Indian government website for all passport-related services — new applications, renewals, appointments, status tracking, and more. All passport applications must be submitted through this portal. We handle the portal process on your behalf.
What is a Passport Seva Kendra (PSK)?▼
A PSK is an authorised passport service centre where applicants visit for biometric (fingerprint + photo) collection, document verification, and application approval. The PSK under Ghaziabad RPO covers Greater Noida West, Noida Extension, Noida, and Ghaziabad residents.
Do I need an appointment at PSK?▼
Yes, a prior appointment is mandatory to visit the PSK. Walk-in visits are not accepted. PSK appointments are booked online on the Passport Seva Portal. We secure appointments within 24–48 hours — often faster for Tatkal cases.
What should I carry to my PSK appointment?▼
Original documents (all, not just photocopies), printed appointment confirmation letter, online application printout, fee payment receipt, and a pen. We provide a complete, specific checklist and preparation guidance before your PSK visit to ensure first-time success.
Can I track my passport application status?▼
Yes. You can track on passportindia.gov.in or via SMS. We also track your application on your behalf and keep you updated at every stage — from PSK approval to police verification to dispatch.
What happens after I submit my passport application at PSK?▼
After PSK, your application goes for police verification (at your residential address). Once verification is cleared, the passport is printed and dispatched via Speed Post to your registered address. The entire post-PSK process typically takes 15–30 days.
💰Fees & Government Charges4
What is the government fee for passport in 2025?▼
New/Re-issue: 36-page normal ₹1,500, 60-page normal ₹2,000, 36-page Tatkal ₹3,500, 60-page Tatkal ₹4,000. PCC: ₹500. Speed Post: ₹35 for all. Minor passport fees are slightly lower. These are official government charges subject to change.
Can I pay passport fees online?▼
Yes. Passport fees can be paid online via debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI on the Passport Seva Portal. Alternatively, you can pay in cash at selected SBI branches using a challan. We guide you through the most convenient payment method.
Is passport fee refundable if application is rejected?▼
No. Passport fees are non-refundable once paid, regardless of the outcome. This is why our pre-PSK document audit is critical — we ensure your application and documents are complete and correct before you pay the fee and visit PSK.
Are there any hidden charges I should know about?▼
The official fees are as listed. Our consultancy service charges are transparent and disclosed upfront during the free consultation — before you commit to anything. There are no hidden fees. We believe in complete pricing transparency.
